AFURI Spicy Beni Harajuku
For some reason, I find myself craving spicy food on hot days. The "AFURI Karakurei Harajuku" is another brand of "AFURI" that satisfies such cravings.

It is a two-minute walk from Meiji-jingumae Station and Harajuku Station. It is located just one small street in from the main street of Omotesando, between Laforet and Omohara no Mori. With easy access, it is a great place to stop by for lunch or dinner.

I had the "Yuzu Spicy Beni Ramen 3-Chome" for 1,390 yen at AFURI Spicy Beni Harajuku.
The signature dish, Yuzu Spicy Beni Ramen, is a new type of yakuzen (herbal) ramen based on AFURI's signature light broth, which is truly "deliciously spicy and sour. I ordered the "3-chome (medium spicy)," with 2-chome being small spicy, 4-chome being medium spicy, and the maximum spicy level is a whopping 28 chome. The spiciness is enough to satisfy even the hottest spicy fanatics.

Menu

If you are not sure, start with a low spicy level and adjust the spiciness with "Sansho Hot Sauce" or "Gekihan Doroshi Hot Sauce" on the table. Paper aprons are also provided, so you don't have to worry about your clothes.

Full of medicinal herbs! Excellent noodles with sansho (Japanese pepper) kneaded into the noodles and melt-in-your-mouth chashu pork!
A bowl of thin, grayish noodles was brought to the table. The noodles, which look like soba noodles, are kneaded with Japanese pepper and have a refreshing and tangy flavor. Although the noodles are super thin, they have a strong presence.

Topped with a perfect balance of large pieces of melt-in-your-mouth chashu pork, half-boiled egg, green onion, small green onion, bamboo shoots, and ginger slices, it looks beautiful and is melt-in-your-mouth delicious.

The soup is based on chicken soup with a white soy sauce sauce, chili peppers, spicy hot oil, and spicy miso to create a deep and complex spicy flavor. Freshly squeezed yuzu juice from Kochi Prefecture is used for the sourness, giving it a refreshing aftertaste.

The ticket machine is cashless! Please note that cash is not accepted.
AFURI Shinkou Harajuku uses a meal ticket system. The ticket machine is cashless, so please do not forget to use your credit card, transportation system IC, or smartphone to pay.

Water, chopsticks, toothpicks, and tissues are provided, and ramen is served in about five minutes. The restaurant is always moderately crowded, but there are few lines.

Summary|If you are looking for a "deliciously spicy and sour" medicinal ramen in Harajuku, AFURI Shinben is the place to go!
Using AFURI's technology, the soup is not only spicy, but also has depth and a refreshing sourness from the yuzu citron. The addition of sansho (Japanese pepper) gives the yakuzen ramen at AFURI Spicy Beni Harajuku a unique "deliciously spicy and sour" taste.

If you want to enjoy a slightly different ramen in Harajuku, or if you want to get over the summer heat and winter cold with spice, please stop by.
