At 9:00 a.m. on a Saturday morning, I walked through the still-quiet Harajuku streets to Eggs 'n Things Harajuku. The store is popular during the daytime, and there is always a long line of customers waiting to get in, but early in the morning, a little after the store opens, it was relatively empty and I was able to smoothly enter the store without waiting in line. We were shown to our seats on the second floor. The view from the open window and the fresh morning air make breakfast time a very special experience.

Eggs 'n Things in Harajuku is famous for its pancakes. I ordered the most popular "Strawberry, Whipped Cream and Macadamia Nut Pancakes. The beautiful visual of the fluffy, moist batter topped with a generous serving of whipped cream and the bright red color of fresh strawberries is truly Instagram-worthy. The softness of the whipped cream and the crunchy texture of the macadamia nuts are in perfect balance, creating a happy harmony in the mouth with the sweet dough.

One of the pleasures of this store is that there are three kinds of syrups on the table, coconut, maple, and guava, so you can enjoy different flavors at your leisure.

The tropical guava syrup, in particular, adds a new flavor to the pancakes. Although the pancakes are hearty, their light texture makes them surprisingly easy to eat, and I was able to fully recharge my energy in the morning.
