La Grande Maison Tokyo is a French restaurant in a quiet location where you can forget the hustle and bustle of Harajuku. In a glass-walled space surrounded by trees, you can enjoy creative French cuisine that is gentle on the body, paired with a wide selection of wines.

This time we visited for lunch on a Sunday and enjoyed a 6,000 yen year-end and New Year's limited course and five kinds of paired wines (4,500 yen). It was a great value course that allowed us to enjoy both meat and fish dishes.

Seasonal 3-piece Amuse
The first dish on the menu was a seasonal three-piece amuse. The dish is a small dish with a beautiful appearance and a variety of flavors to enjoy.

The wine was a light white wine, perfect for a refreshing start.

Sea Urchin Tofu with Yuzu and Winter Melon
Next was the sea urchin tofu with yuzu and wax gourd. The aroma of yuzu is refreshing, and the richness of the sea urchin and the gentle flavor of the wax gourd are in perfect balance.

The paired white wine brought the whole dish together in a refreshing way while enhancing the richness of the sea urchin.
Soup / Tsumagoi Kogen Cabbage Vroute
Tsumakoi Kogen Cabbage Vroute, which brings out the sweetness of cabbage, is recommended to be enjoyed with freshly baked campagne.

The white wine paired with the soup had a gentle taste that enhanced the natural sweetness of the cabbage.

Homemade Bread/Freshly Baked Campagne
The freshly baked campagne was fragrant and very tasty.

The accompanying honey butter was superb.

Today's fish dish / Ehime sea bream Sake
The main fish dish was a sea bream from Ehime, finished with sake. The heat was perfectly adjusted, and the plump and tender sea bream melted in the mouth.

This dish is paired with a crisp white wine that enhances the flavor of the fish.

Today's meat dish / Okinawa Kin Agu pork lentils
The main meat dish is a dish using Okinawan brand Kin Agu pork. The lentils are a perfect match for the lentils, allowing you to enjoy the robust flavor.

The red wine that appeared here was a perfect accompaniment to the rich flavor of the Golden Agu pork and made for a full-bodied pairing.

Dessert of the Day / Patissier's Inspiration Tangerine
The dessert of the day was the pastry chef's inspiration mandarin orange. This dish offers the fresh flavor and texture of mandarin oranges.

The final drink choice was chamomile tea or coffee. I chose the chamomile tea and took a sigh of relief.

Wine Pairing Appeal
The wine pairing this time consisted mainly of white wines, with two red wines making an appearance at the end. It was a luxurious experience to enjoy a variety of tastes as they were served in small quantities and paired wonderfully with each dish.

Atmosphere of the restaurant and recommendations
La Grande Maison TOKYO features a glass-walled space surrounded by trees and a quiet environment that is hard to believe it is in Harajuku. It is perfect for dinners and special occasions, and is also equipped with private rooms.

The adjacent affiliated bakery is also highly recommended and freshly baked bread is available for purchase.

Conclusion
Lunch at La Grande Maison TOKYO was a special time to enjoy healthful French cuisine paired with a wide selection of wines. The dishes make the most of the ingredients and the quiet, sophisticated space is appealing.
