Sarter Andagi at Nansei NANSEI Harajuku Store
Nansei, Okinawa's very popular sata andagi specialty store, made a NEW OPEN on Takeshita-dori on February 14, 2025! I was curious about the pink-glowing, Instagram-worthy interior every time I passed by.

I visited immediately and purchased a set of all 6 items (1,300 yen) to try.

What is sata andagi?
Sata andagi is a traditional Okinawan deep-fried pastry. It is derived from the Okinawan words "sata (sugar)" + "anda (oil)" + "agi (fried)," which directly translates to "fried sugar in oil. Characterized by its crispy outside and fluffy inside, it is a popular snack.

Freshly fried to order! Crispy and fluffy texture
One of the most unique features of Nansei's Harajuku branch is that they are freshly deep-fried to order. The crispy outside and fluffy inside are exceptionally delicious when freshly made!

I actually tried it! Recommended flavor ranking
This time, we tried all six flavors. The most delicious among them were...

No. 1: Strawberry flavor (Harajuku only)
It is pink, cute, and has a slightly sweet and sour flavor. Combined with its cute appearance, it was a product that lifted my spirits even before I ate it!
No. 2: Chocolate flavor (Harajuku only)
The rich cacao flavor can be enjoyed, not too sweet and bitter. It also matched well with the richness of the sataa andagi oil.

Other Flavor
- Seekwasser flavor: refreshingly tart and refreshing to eat.
- Yomogi flavor: Japanese taste with a slight bitterness and aroma.
- Brown sugar flavor: The richness of brown sugar, unique to Okinawa, is irresistible.

Atmosphere of the store & points to be reflected
The interior of Nansei's Harajuku store has a lovely pink-based design.

In addition, the stones under the counter and the blocks on the walls were imported from Okinawa and painted pink.

There are many photo-worthy spots, so when you visit, be sure to take pictures and share them on SNS!

Where is the eat-in space?
Basically, it is a eat-in style, but there are three chairs set up in front of the restaurant. This is a great point for those who want to sit down for a bit and eat slowly.

Review

Summary
Nansei" is a rare store where you can enjoy authentic Okinawan sataa andagi in Harajuku. In particular, the strawberry and chocolate flavors, available only in Harajuku, are a must-try.

The prices are a little high, but the freshly fried taste and the store's interior, which is full of attractive spots, make it worth a visit! If you visit Takeshita-dori, be sure to stop by!
