Google Store Omotesando Report | A Comprehensive Look at the First Official Store Outside the U.S.! From Pixel to AI Experiences and Merchandise [August 2026]

Read in Japanese

On August 13, 2026, the “Google Store Omotesando” opened in Omotesando. This is Google’s first company-owned store outside the United States, and one of the reasons Japan was chosen is its deep connection to Google as “the first country where Google opened an overseas office.”The store is located on the B1 and 2nd floors of Tokyu Plaza Omotesando’s “Omokado.” I visited the store myself, so here’s a detailed report floor by floor 📱

Despite the rain on opening day, a long line had formed even before the store opened. It was a scene that clearly conveyed the high level of anticipation for Google’s first store outside the U.S.

1st Floor: Hands-on Experience with the Pixel Series

The first floor is the product exhibition area. The calm, wood-toned interior is accented by a floral installation suspended from the ceiling, adding a touch of warmth. The atmosphere—somewhat natural and welcoming, distinct from that of an Apple Store—was particularly striking.

On display are Pixel series smartphones, Pixel Buds, Pixel Watch, Fitbit, Google Home devices, and more. Visitors can pick up and try out all the actual devices; there are no carrier contract counters, making this a space dedicated solely to “experiencing and purchasing.”

Japan-Exclusive Merchandise & Google Original Goods

Google original merchandise—including soy sauce dishes, chopstick rests, tumblers, and tote bags—is on display. Don’t miss the Japan-exclusive items either.

There are 25 types of merchandise in total. While 7 of these are available globally, the Japan-exclusive “Recrafted by Google Pixel” collection (¥5,500; 6 designs total) features sustainable accessories made from recycled fragments and fibers from Pixel Watch and Fitbit bands. The collection also includes a set of four soy sauce dishes (¥3,700), a set of four chopstick rests (¥2,400), tumblers, tote bags, and other items that combine Google’s signature sense of humor with practicality.

B1F: Here to Help (Support Floor)

The basement level is a support-only space called “Here to Help.”In addition to accepting repairs for Pixel smartphones and Pixel Watches with same-day service, you can consult with staff in private, partitioned booths.

  • iPhone to Pixel Data Transfer Support (Free)
  • Setup Support for Fitbit and Nest Devices (Free)
  • One-on-One Consultations (Reservations Recommended; Walk-ins Accepted)
  • Repair Drop-Off (Same-day service available depending on the issue)

The private, partitioned booths are reportedly specially designed with Japanese visitors in mind. The calm, relaxed atmosphere provided a genuine sense of reassurance.

2nd Floor: Pixel Studio (Experience & AI-Focused Floor)

The “Pixel Studio” on the 2nd floor is a floor dedicated to experiencing Google’s cutting-edge AI and innovations rather than product sales. True to the concept of “a place to come and play, not just to learn about technology,” you can experience Google’s AI technology simply by walking around the various booths.

There are also plenty of other booths offering free experiences, such as the Gemini Booth (where you can generate AI photos and videos from your selfie to take home) and the 120x super-resolution zoom experience (a feature of the new Pixel 11 Pro).

Summary: A New “Mecca” Has Emerged in Omotesando

Despite the rain on opening day, a long line formed before the store even opened

The Google Store Omotesando is a company-owned store with a unique position distinct from both typical electronics retailers and the Apple Store. It’s a comfortable and inspiring space that directly embodies the “Human, Optimistic, Bold” design philosophy.

Whether you’re considering a Pixel and want to compare hands-on models, are an existing user seeking repairs or advice at “Here to Help” on the B1F, or a tech enthusiast looking to experience the latest AI at the Pixel Studio on the 2F—there’s something for everyone. Be sure to stop by when you’re in the Omotesando or Harajuku area.
