Omotesando LOTUS

I was looking for a place in the Omotesando area where I could get a proper meal late at night, and that’s how I ended up here.

Located in Jingumae 4-chome, LOTUS is housed in a slim, glass-walled building, but once inside, it’s surprisingly spacious. Spanning the first floor and basement, it’s a large café with 100 seats. It might actually be closer to walk from Gaienmae Station than from Omotesando Station.

on the first

floor. A unique space blending a DJ booth, apparel, and sweets

Upon entering the first floor, you’ll find a DJ booth on your left, apparel racks and tables lined up straight ahead, and a long row of dessert display cases on your right. It feels less like a traditional café and more like a cultural space where you can also enjoy a meal. The place was much larger than its exterior suggested.

The basement floor is like another world

Descend the steel staircase to the basement floor. A world of yellow walls unfolds

This time, we headed to the basement. Descending the steel staircase, you’re greeted byvivid yellow walls anda large monitor covering the entire wall. The monitor displays scenes of foreign cities, giving you the sensation of having wandered into another world. Combined with the warm light of the floor lamps and the small art pieces decorating the walls, it creates a unique atmosphere.

The seating areas—by the windows on the first floor, at the back of the kitchen, and in the basement—each have a completely different vibe. There are plenty of seats where you can relax without feeling self-conscious, even if you’re alone, and you’ll actually spot a few women dining solo here and there. Wi-Fi is available (ask a staff member for the password).

Teriyaki Yellowtail Set Meal: 1,600 yen. A genuinely delicious café meal

Grilled Yellowtail Set Meal 1,600 yen. A set including white rice, side dishes, pickles, and soup

I ordered the Teriyaki Yellowtail Set Meal for 1,600 yen. It comes with white rice, side dishes, pickles, and soup.

The yellowtail had a rich glaze and the flesh was tender and juicy. It was a genuinely delicious set meal that really went well with the rice. Even though it’s café food, they didn’t cut corners—the careful preparation made for a highly satisfying meal. The set menu also includes the Salted Koji-Grilled Daisen Chicken for 1,600 yen.

It’s great that you can eat here even outside of lunch hours

Lunch Menu. Composed of 5 categories: BREAD, PASTA, RICE, MEAT, and Set Meals

One of LOTUS’s biggest draws is that it’s open continuously from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM every day (until 11:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays). You can enjoy a meal even after lunch hours have passed.

The lunch menu (11:00 AM–5:00 PM) features five categories: BREAD, PASTA, RICE, MEAT, and Set Meals. The lineup ranges from Western to Japanese cuisine, featuring dishes like Banh Mi (1,400 yen), Edogawa Eggplant and Chorizo Arrabbiata (1,500 yen), and Norwegian Salmon, Avocado, and Salmon Roe Barley Rice (1,500 yen).Set drinks, including coffee, tea, and green tea, can be added for an extra 200 yen.

A showcase featuring an impressive variety of cakes

A wide variety of options, including strawberry tart, apple cheesecake, fresh ganache shortcake, and pudding

The variety of sweets displayed in the first-floor showcase is truly impressive. Strawberry tart, apple cheesecake, fresh ganache shortcake, caramel & banana tart, blueberry tart, pudding… just browsing through them is a delight. It’s also convenient to be able to choose one right there for dessert after your meal.

You can relax here, enjoy a proper meal, and indulge in a wide selection of sweets. As a café where you can linger without worrying about the time, I think it’s a truly reliable spot in the Omotesando and Gaienmae area.
