If you're looking for a "café where you can work for hours" in Shibuya, Self Café Shibuya Jinnan is definitely the place to go. This unstaffed café is fully equipped with Wi-Fi, power outlets, and wireless charging, and as long as you purchase at least one drink (starting at ¥420), you can stay as long as you like. The shop is located on the B2 floor of Crystal Point in the Shibuya/Jinnan area. It’s easily accessible, about a 5-minute walk from Shibuya Station (served by JR, Tokyu, Keio, and Tokyo Metro lines). A green sign at the building entrance reads “Unmanned Café with Wi-Fi and Power Outlets,” so you won’t have any trouble finding it.
Once you enter the building, take the elevator at the back to the second basement level. As you walk down the hallway, you’ll be greeted by a red “GRAND OPEN” sign and a “CAFE & COFFEE” sign. Since it’s a fully unstaffed café that requires no membership registration, even first-time visitors can enter immediately just by reading the instructions.

The interior is so spacious you’d never guess it’s underground, featuring an open design with artificial turf covering the entire floor. Boasting 94 seats, the space offers a wide variety of seating options, ranging from long tables for coworking to counters with partitions for solo work, and comfortable chairs for relaxing. The botanical-patterned wallpaper adds to the stylish atmosphere, making it hard to believe you’re underground.
The counter seats with partitions are perfect for those who want to focus on their own. You can immerse yourself in your work without worrying about the person next to you. Each seat is equipped with a power outlet, so you don’t have to worry about your battery running out even during long hours of computer work.
Another great feature is that wireless charging spots are installed at every table. Simply place your smartphone on the spot to charge it quickly and easily. You can connect to Wi-Fi using the SSID: selfcafe and password: selfcafe001 (also clearly marked on the vending machines and seat stickers).
How to use: Just buy a drink from the vending machine!
It’s simple to use. Just purchase at least one drink per person from the in-store vending machines and take a seat wherever you like. No need to speak to staff or register for a membership. There are three vending machines lined up against a botanical-patterned wall, offering a wide selection ranging from coffee to soft drinks.
The drink lineup includes authentic coffees such as THE BLEND and W-ROAST (starting at ¥420), as well as café au lait, premium cocoa, matcha latte, unsweetened black tea, and milk tea. You can upgrade to a larger size for an additional ¥80. Payment is cashless only (cash not accepted).
Paid seating areas and private rooms are also available.
In addition to the standard free seating area, a paid area (¥1,500/day) is also available. This area allows you to bring your own food and drinks and is equipped with a water dispenser, making it ideal for those who want to settle in and work all day. Drop-in access is available via PayPay only. Premium members can use this area at no additional cost as part of their subscription.
Further back, there is also a private room area. The hallway lined with numbered wooden doors is perfect for those who want to completely block out their surroundings for online meetings or focused work. Use of the private rooms requires a separate fee.

What’s surprising is that they even have a copier. A FUJIFILM color multifunction printer is installed, supporting color copying, public printing, and USB printing. It’s a real lifesaver to be able to handle last-minute document printing right here in the store.
There’s also a section selling snacks and sweets, as well as a refrigerated display case for ice cream (various Lady Borden flavors, ¥400 each). It’s so well-stocked that you can even grab a snack on the spot when you’re feeling peckish (*Please note that seating is not available for customers purchasing ice cream only).
