A "spicy ramen specialty store" appears in the middle of Harajuku!

On June 10, 2025, a "spicy ramen POPUP store" will open in a corner of Takeshita-dori in Harajuku, where you can enjoy the whole world of spicy ramen! Bungsik" is a term used to describe light meals made from flour, and in Korea, it refers to the popular food stands that serve ramen, kimbap, toppogi, etc. The "Bungsik" store will be open from June 10 (Tue.) to June 11 (Sat.).

The opening event will be held from June 10 (Tue) to 15 (Sun)!

The centerpiece of the event will be the much talked-about "Hangang Ramen Experience," where visitors can try their hand at cooking "spicy ramen" in one of the 30,000 automatic ramen cooking machines in use at convenience stores and restaurants in South Korea.

This POPUP is a café specializing in ramen that recreates such Korean food culture.

When to visit and how to enter? Advance reservations are better!

I visited on Wednesday, June 12, after 12:00 noon.

There is a female staff with a plate with a QR code in front of the restaurant, which you can read with your smartphone to access the application form on line.

Please note that the reservation slots fill up quickly in the evening and later in the day, with hourly time slots available! I made a reservation for the 6:00 p.m. slot and entered the store a little past 6:00 p.m..

The "End for today" sign was already up, but I was able to get in just in time with about 10 other people in line.

The experience started on the second floor! Quiz, photo spot, and even automatic cooking!

Once guided to the second floor, we first received a "photo card" and a pencil, and then it was time to take pictures and fill out the form.

The term "modishumer" is a coined word that combines "modifiy" and "consumer," and refers to consumers who enjoy customizing ramen to their liking.

🌶Choice of elements:

• Soup flavor: Original / thick milk / kimchi / black / spicy chicken / yakisoba-style
• Toppings: green onion, egg, wiener, cheese, garlic, butter, etc. (up to 3)

I came alone, but there were several other people who came alone, so I felt at ease.
The mild soup with more milk was delicious and I drank every last mouthful!
