A limited-time Joe Malone London pop-up called “Sea Salt Adventure ” has opened at the Yodobashi J6 Building in Shibuya/Jingumae (August 6–9, 2026).
The theme is a fragrant journey along the British coast. Upon stepping into the immersive space inspired by the coastline of the Celtic Sea, the sea breeze, the sound of waves, and mist effects enveloped all five senses, creating an experience that felt just like being on a British seashore. Here’s our report, complete with plenty of photos 🌊

A sea monster welcomes you! The venue’s atmosphere
The moment you step inside, a giant sea monster greets you with a hearty “Welcome!” The green sea monster is tenderly cradling a Jo Malone London box and appears throughout the venue as the character symbolizing this event.

Objects realistically recreating the British coastline—such as a lighthouse, rocky shores, and buoys—are arranged throughout the space, creating an immersive experience that makes you feel as if you’ve wandered into a movie set. Incidentally, even the notices within the venue were written in a humorous tone as if the sea monster were speaking directly to visitors, ensuring the brand’s distinctive character was evident down to the finest details.

Experience #1: The stepping-stone area across the coastal rocks
Just past the entrance, a coastal rock formation filled with water spreads out before you. The path, which leads visitors across stepping stones made of natural stone, creates a realistic sense of tension underfoot. Since there’s a chance of getting splashed (which might wet your shoes or clothes), the experience closely mimicked being at a real seaside.

Experience #2: Wave Tunnel ~ Mist Room
As you proceed deeper into the venue, a blue tunnel inspired by waves appears. This wave-shaped tunnel, featuring a blue gradient to depict ripples, is a photo spot that looks absolutely stunning in both photos and videos.

Beyond the tunnel lies a mist-shrouded coastal cliff area. The combination of fog and the visual and audio effects of the sea makes you feel, for a moment, as if you’re actually standing on a rocky shore in England. It’s also a hugely popular photo spot, with visitors taking pictures one after another.
Experience #3: Perfume Exhibition & Scent Layering Experience
In the perfume exhibition area, where footage of huge waves fills an entire wall, you can freely sample summer scents, including the star of the show , “Sea Salt & Bergamot.”

The new “Sea Salt & Bergamot” fragrance is a refreshing, woody-fresh scent reminiscent of the summer sea, blending crisp bergamot, mineral notes evoking sea salt, and the warmth of driftwood. It instantly transports you from the sweltering Tokyo summer to the cool British coast 🌊
Another quintessentially Jo Malone London experience is creating your own unique scent while getting scent layering suggestions from the staff.
Experience ④ Fragrance Diagnosis via Tablet
There’s also a section where you can answer a few questions on a tablet to receive a fragrance recommendation tailored to your personality. It was fun to see the diagnosis results and fragrance suggestions displayed together—such as “Pioneer Who Ignites Hope = Sea Salt & Bergamot × Grapefruit”—and try them right there on the spot.

The bustling venue, merchandise, and purchase perks

At the large central counter, staff members thoughtfully guided visitors through the scents. The massive lemon-shaped sculpture also had a striking presence, creating an installation that naturally drew people in.

A full lineup of summer-themed scents, including Grapefruit, Orange Marmalade, English Pear & Sweet Pea, and Nectarine Blossom & Honey, was on display. Some were so popular they sold out.
As a perk for purchasers, you can receive a Sea Monster keychain or tote bag, and all visitors are given a string bag and a stamp rally booklet that doubles as a fan.
Stamp Rally & Bergamot Game

The stamp rally is designed so that you can win a gift by completing three missions. Once you’ve completed the three steps—the Bath & Body Experience, the Scent Layering Experience, and sharing on social media—you’ll earn the right to participate in the Bergamot Game. This interactive game, where you toss bergamot-shaped balls into an orange net, was a fun activity enjoyed by everyone from kids to adults 🍊
Summary: An immersive event featuring high-quality scents and ambiance
This Joe Malone London “Sea Salt Adventure” was a pop-up event where you could fully immerse yourself in the fragrance through the space, the experience, and the story. With plenty of photo spots and a rich lineup of stamp rallies and hands-on activities, it was a high-quality event that even those unfamiliar with fragrances could thoroughly enjoy.
Although this particular event has ended, Jo Malone London often holds seasonal events, so we recommend following their official social media accounts to stay updated on upcoming events.
