Located right in front of the National Stadium, " BLUE SIX COFFEE" held its grand opening in January 2024 in the newly renovated Building D of Tokyo Metropolitan Meiji Park. This specialty café serves top-quality "clean coffee, "which accounts for just about 5% of total production, and offers an extensive selection of gluten-free and low-sugar sweets. One spring day, I visited with the goal of trying their seasonal sakura and matcha Einspänner!
Architecture that blends into nature and open-air terrace seating

The modern building, combining wood and concrete, blends naturally into the greenery of Meiji Park. On the first-floor terrace, you can enjoy your coffee while feeling the fresh air. The terrace is especially recommended during the warmer months.

About a 7-minute walk from National Stadium Station (Oedo Line), a 10-minute walk from JR Sendagaya Station, and a 10-minute walk from Tokyo Metro Gaienmae Station. Located in Building D of Tokyo Metropolitan Meiji Park, it offers a pleasant setting surrounded by the park’s greenery.
An interior enveloped in greenery that feels unlike Tokyo
True to the shop’s slogan, “A café surrounded by nature that feels like you’re not in Tokyo,” the interior features large windows that fill your view with the park’s greenery, making you forget you’re in the heart of the city. Photos of coffee plantations adorn the walls like a gallery, creating a lovely atmosphere that lets you immerse yourself in the world of coffee.
Equipped with power outlets and free Wi-Fi, the space is perfect for spending hours working or studying.

Carefully selected coffee and a distinctive counter
An espresso machine bearing the illuminated "BLUE SIX COFFEE" logo sits prominently at the counter. The shop is committed to using only "clean coffee" — which accounts for approximately the top 5% of global production —carefully bringing out the unique flavors of each origin. You can choose from a variety of brewing methods, including pour-over, AeroPress, and espresso-based drinks.
A turntable is also installed at the counter, and the atmosphere is enhanced by background music from records selected by the baristas—a thoughtful touch that leaves a lasting impression.

A well-stocked merchandise section
Near the entrance is a merchandise corner stocked with original cups, mugs, tumblers, coffee beans, and drippers. It offers a range of items so you can enjoy your favorite coffee at home, and these make excellent souvenirs from Tokyo.

Gluten-free dessert showcase
The display case features a wide selection of gluten-free and low-sugar sweets. From Basque cheesecake and brownies to fruit tarts and sakura pound cake, every item is beautifully presented and carefully crafted to pair perfectly with coffee.

Menu Highlights
The coffee menu centers on espresso (¥605), café latte (M ¥715–), and hand-drip coffee (M ¥850–), and also features a wide selection of health-conscious options such as Manuka honey latte, date latte, and energy coffee. For an additional ¥200, you can substitute with oat milk or soy milk. Food is available only from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, featuring items such as avocado salad, tuna melt sandwiches, BLT sandwiches, and acai bowls.

Trying the Sakura and Matcha Einspänner + Cranberry Tart!
This time, I ordered the seasonal Sakura and Matcha Einspänner (from ¥770) and a Cranberry Tart.
The Einspänner is a twist on the Viennese whipped cream coffee, featuring fluffy cream atop a matcha latte, sprinkled with salted cherry blossoms and matcha powder—a lovely, spring-like presentation. When you take a sip, the subtle sweetness of the sakura and the flavor of the matcha spread across your palate, creating a perfect balance with the cream. It was a truly satisfying drink, meticulously crafted not just in appearance but in taste as well.
The cranberry tart features a crisp crust filled with sweet-and-sour cranberry filling, accented by a crunchy crumble topping that adds texture. It pairs perfectly with coffee.

Summary
Despite its location right in front of the National Stadium, "BLUE SIX COFFEE" offers a high-quality coffee and dessert experience in an environment that feels like a different world, surrounded by the greenery of Meiji Park.Since it opens at 8:00 AM, it’s the perfect spot to stop by during an early morning stroll in the park. With gluten-free options, a pet-friendly policy (1st floor and terrace only), and English-speaking staff, it’s a welcoming spot for everyone. Next time, I definitely want to try the food menu too!
