A few minutes walk from Harajuku Station. We visited dotcom space tokyo, a hidden cafe tucked away in a back alley off the busy main street.

This community space is run by Beijing-based technology company dotcom. The simple space has an added expression of Tokyo-ness.

You can taste carefully selected specialty coffees and popular toast and croffles. The café regularly hosts seasonal menu changes, events, and popups.

A space that looks like a Korean-style cafe with a concrete and white inorganic design

Although the store is located in the basement, it has a high ceiling and is well lit by natural light, giving it a sense of openness. The store's interior, based on bare concrete and white, has an inorganic yet soft and somewhat relaxing atmosphere. The ceiling with exposed plumbing is stylish, and the atmosphere is like that of a café in Seoul, Korea.

On the day of the visit, many young women were dressed simply and fashionably, wearing monotone T-shirts and pants in natural fashions that perfectly matched the atmosphere of the store. It seems to be a place where people with a high fashion sense naturally gather.

Each latte is carefully brewed one cup at a time. The carefully selected beans are also noteworthy.

I ordered a latte. The staff explained to me, " Today's latte is..." I was impressed by the fact that they change the beans each day.

On the tray provided, the name and flavor characteristics of today's beans were carefully written, and on the back was even the drip recipe! It is filled with tips on how to brew a delicious cup of coffee at home, such as the reason for pouring the coffee in three separate batches and the proper temperature. They also sell beans next to the cash register, so if you like it, you can buy it on the spot. The latte with more milk was mild and easy to drink, perfect for a relaxing afternoon.

The latte tray is also very exquisite, though I can't describe its size and shape well.

We recommend this café as a perfect place to work on your PC, as the Wi-Fi is well connected. We were told that the time limit is 90 minutes, but we saw many customers working quietly like in Starbucks.

Take the elevator at the back of the store to the basement. It is difficult to see from the entrance, so it is truly a hidden café for those in the know.

A rare quiet space to spend time in Harajuku

It was around 4:00 p.m. on a weekend day, and we waited in line for about 10 minutes, but depending on the day, you may be able to get in right away. The last time I was here, there was a group of people sitting outside on the terrace, but on this day, due to the heat, everyone was relaxing inside the restaurant.

I had not expected to find such a relaxing space in the bustling Harajuku area. There were few children in the group, making it a perfect place for adults to spend a relaxing time. This café is also recommended for those who want to refresh themselves in a quiet atmosphere.
