Nanako Yoshida Solo Exhibition "empty smile

From April 25 (Fri.) to May 6 (Tue.), 2024, tHE GALLERY HARAJUKU in Harajuku is holding a solo exhibition " empty smile " by artist Nanako Yoshida.

We visited the exhibition and would like to introduce the charm of the exhibition!

The world of "empty smile" overflowing with cuteness

Once you enter the exhibition hall, you are already in a world of ducklings (rubber ducks) and girls.
The small gallery space was filled with healing and cuteness.

The works were mainly oil paintings, but also acrylic gouache,copics, and watercolors, all with Nako Minami's typical pop and gentle touch.

Impressive works included a chick popping out of a girl's eye, a girl surrounded by many chicks, and chicks perched on top of a girl's head, all of which made us smile.

Each work was filled with Nako Minami's precious thought of "transforming negative emotions into cute ones," and gently soothed the hearts of those who saw them.

In this exhibition, there will be not only artworks but also a variety of original goods!

In addition, there will be a corner where visitors can have their portraits drawn for 2,200 yen!
The portraits will be specially stamped with a commemorative stamp exclusive to this exhibition.

About Nanako Yoshida

Nanako Yoshida is a creator of a wide range of works from analog to digital.

Her sparkling painting style is influenced by the subculture of the 90s, and she aims to be a chameleon creator, not a chameleon actor, under the slogan "One person plays X roles.

In the past, he held a solo exhibition " PLAY A X ROLE " at the same gallery, and in this "empty smile" exhibition, you can enjoy an even more evolved world of ducks and girls.
