Located on the first floor of the Shibuya Miyashita Park Building, just a 2-minute walk from Shibuya Station, is “Hamburg and Hamba-gu.” This hamburger steak specialty restaurant has been making waves for its “half-and-half” style, where you can choose any two of 12 different sauces to suit your taste.True to their concept of “twice the deliciousness with two sauces,” we tried a dish that’s perfect for social media, where you can enjoy two distinct flavors in a single hamburger steak!

Located on the 1st floor of the Shibuya Miyashita Park Building, about a 2-minute walk from Exit B2 of JR Shibuya Station (in front of Bic Camera), heading toward Miyashita Park. *Please note that this is a different building from Miyashita Park itself. Look for the colorful circular sign as a landmark.

A colorful interior perfect for Instagram

The interior features a striking array of colorful circular panels lining the brick wall. This display represents the colors of the sauces and visually conveys the restaurant’s concept in a fun way. With a compact layout featuring just 14 counter seats, the excitement of watching hamburger steaks sizzle in the open kitchen right in front of you is part of the charm.

A system where you select your size and sauce at a ticket machine

Place your order using the touchscreen ticket machine.First, choose your hamburger steak size from 150g (¥1,480), 200g (¥1,680), 300g (¥1,980), or 450g (¥2,480), then select your preferred level of doneness (medium or well-done).You can also choose whether or not to add a fried egg topping.

In the next step, select two sauces from a lineup of 12 varieties. With a diverse selection including demi-glace, cheese, grated daikon with ponzu, tomato, green curry, and mustard cream, there are over 66 possible combinations! You’ll discover new ways to enjoy the meal every time you visit.

Cutlery is provided in the table drawers.

When you take your seat, you’ll find an apron, a warm towel, chopsticks, a fork, and a spoon neatly arranged in the table drawer. The griddle gets very hot, so be careful not to touch it. Since sauce tends to splatter, we strongly recommend wearing an apron.

Up to three colorful mini rolls are free!

The container on the table is filled with colorful mini rolls in shades of green, orange, pink, and white. You can get up to three per person for free —a delicious way to enjoy the meal is to dip the bread in any leftover sauce. You also get one free rice refill, making this a great value.

Trying the Half & Half Hamburger Steak!

This time, I ordered the 200g Hamburger Steak with a Fried Egg (¥1,780), with a “Half & Half” sauce combination of cheese and demi-glace.

From the moment it’s served on a sizzling hot iron plate, the delicious aroma of searing meat fills the air. The coarsely ground hamburger patty has a firm texture, allowing you to directly savor the rich flavor of the meat.

The cheese sauce side features a rich, melt-in-your-mouth blend of four cheeses— it’s irresistibly delicious. The demi-glace side is a classic demi-glace sauce with depth and richness —needless to say, it pairs perfectly with the hamburger steak. With every spoonful, the joy continues as I think, “This one’s delicious, and so is that one.”If you break the yolk of the fried egg and mix it into the dish, the flavor becomes even richer.
