What kind of place is NOA COFFEE Gelato Kitchen?
Right at the entrance to Takeshita Street in Harajuku, I stumbled upon a café with a breakfast menu that’s just a little too over-the-top (lol).
Its name is NOA COFFEE Gelato Kitchen. Believe it or not, if you order the breakfast set, you get all-you-can-eat homemade gelato. And it starts at just ¥750. Right in the heart of Harajuku, where you can have as many refills of gelato as you want from the morning on—I have no choice but to become a regular.

This shop is a new venture by the long-established coffee shop 《NOA COFFEE》, which has been loved in Harajuku for over 50 years, now featuring an attached gelato workshop. It’s located a mere 30-second walk from the Takeshita Exit of JR Harajuku Station. Step down one level from the hustle and bustle of Takeshita Street, and you’ll find a sophisticated, relaxed dining café.

Marble-style tables, gold pendant lights, and woven tile walls. It’s a high-quality space with a completely different vibe from the Harajuku atmosphere outside.

Morning Set Contents & Prices

Morning service hours are 9:00 AM–11:00 AM (last order at 11:00 AM).

Set A ¥750
- Buttered toast (with jam or honey) or country bread (with jam or butter)
- Salad
- Drink
- All-you-can-eat homemade gelato
Set B ¥900
- Buttered Toast or Campagne
- Salad & Drink
- Yogurt & Boiled Eggs
- All-you-can-eat homemade gelato
This time, I chose the Campagne from Set A. For my drink, I selected iced coffee (included in the set price, no extra charge).
Tasting Report: Campagne, Salad, Iced Coffee
The country bread is sliced into two pieces; the crust is crispy, while the inside is chewy and satisfying. I enjoy it with plenty of the included butter and strawberry jam (Kraft).
The salad features romaine lettuce as a base, with carrots and tomatoes for a colorful dish.
And just look at the height of this glass of iced coffee! I was completely satisfied with the generous pour of dark-roast coffee.
All-you-can-eat gelato is the main attraction! A lineup of 9 flavors
And now, the star of the show: all-you-can-eat homemade gelato. You can get as many refills as you like by scanning the QR code to call a staff member (orders are taken one cup at a time).
| Flavor | Japanese |

| Raspberry Banana | Raspberry Banana |
| Mango | Mango |
Of the nine flavors, the one I definitely want you to try first is Rich Milk. It’s a classic flavor with a rich, creamy milkiness, yet it has a refined sweetness to it. The moment I took a bite, I was convinced, “I could eat this all day long.” The smoothness and clean finish are completely different from store-bought ice cream—truly the quality you’d expect from a gelato specialty shop.
Atmosphere: A sophisticated space that feels unlike Harajuku
The interior, located on the basement level, is much more spacious than I had imagined. It offers plenty of seating options, including sofas and tables, and is fully equipped with Wi-Fi. It was very quiet on a weekday morning, allowing me to relax and unwind. Time passes quietly here, making it hard to believe the hustle and bustle of Takeshita Street is just outside.
Must-try next time: Custom Parfait (from ¥1,750)
Aside from the breakfast menu, what caught my eye was the custom parfait. It’s a made-to-order parfait where you can freely choose two types of homemade gelato, plus toppings and sauces, starting at ¥1,750. The display case is filled with beautiful samples, and just looking at them gets me excited. I vowed to myself that next time, I’d come specifically for the parfait after lunch.
