Just a 1-minute walk from Meiji-jingumae Station.Located on the 3rd floor of Q Plaza Harajuku, “SHUTTERS Omotesando ” is a casual Italian restaurant known for its 100% Japanese-raised pork spare ribs and freshly baked apple pie. This time, I visited for lunch specifically to try the spare ribs, which have a reputation for being “unforgettable once you’ve tasted them”!
Access & Entry
It’s right outside Exit 7 of Tokyo Metro’s Meiji-jingumae or Harajuku Station. Located on the 3rd floor of Q plaza HARAJUKU, you’ll see the entrance to SHUTTERS as soon as you take the elevator or escalator up. It’s in a great location for a quick stop while strolling or shopping in the Harajuku and Omotesando areas.

A calm and open interior
The interior features 61 seats and a spacious layout. It’s a bright space filled with natural light streaming through large windows, and the large aquarium embedded in the wall is a particularly eye-catching feature. With sofa seating available, the atmosphere is perfect for a wide range of occasions, from lunch to dinner. Families with children are welcome; strollers are allowed inside, and a children’s menu is available.
You have to try this! Our signature spare ribs
This time, I ordered the Soy Sauce Spare Ribs (2 ribs per plate) for ¥1,754, paired with the A Set (salad, soup, and bread or rice) for ¥330.
The moment I took a bite, I knew: “Ah, this is different from the rest.” Made with high-quality pork from Hokkaido, these spare ribs are so tender they fall right off the bone. The mild soy sauce-based seasoning brings out the natural umami of the meat to the fullest, and the fat is refined and light, so you can enjoy every bite without getting tired of it.
Personally, I think this is the best place for spare ribs. They pair perfectly with drinks, so it’s a dish I highly recommend trying for dinner.
