We went to Kayumengakuya Kiki, a hidden-away porridge specialty restaurant on Killer Street in Gaienmae, Tokyo.

It is located on the second floor of the building that houses the Human Made store, just up the stairs.

It is a relaxed space like a café bar for those in the know.

The congee of the day was the three fresh congee (shrimp, squid, and clams).

The congee of the day (Saturday) "Sanxian Congee" was 980 yen.

This seafood congee is filled with plump shrimp, tender squid, and flavorful clams, and is a light and refreshing congee that is very gentle on the palate.

Each grain of rice is broken into pieces and looks like a flower blooming.

The crispy texture of the fried onions accentuates the taste, and you can change the flavor by adding black vinegar or nam pla.

The set includes a self-service salad and all-you-can-drink soft drinks.

In addition to the healthy porridge, it is a great way to consume vegetables.

Relaxing interior｜Sofa seats, guitars, and even a fortune-telling book

The restaurant has a total of 22 seats.

There are table seats, benches on one side, and sofa seats, and the atmosphere is a little retro and warm, with guitars on display.

From the windows, you can see the greenery of Killer Street, and a relaxing time that is typical of Gaienmae is passing by.

At the entrance, there are "birthday horoscope" and "compatibility horoscope" books, which made the waiting time enjoyable.

By the way, I was born on September 21. It says here that I am the type who enjoys "adopting new trends and changes"... I think I am right (laugh).

This time I had the daily special, the most popular of the three congee dishes is the "Tom Yam Congee".
While I was curious about the popular "Tom Yum Porridge," I was also struck by the beauty of the black sesame flat rice porridge that another customer was eating.

The pattern of black sesame seeds looked like latte art, and I couldn't help but ask to take a picture of it!
I would like to return for that next time.

Kiyo's dishes are cooked without chemical seasonings and non-fried.
It is healthy but satisfying, and is gentle on both the stomach and the mind.

At night, there is a menu that seems to go well with alcoholic beverages, and we recommend using the restaurant as a bar.
